shamanism
If your exploration has led you here, you’re probably seeking help beyond the limits of conventional western medicine. Shamanism is the oldest form of healing in the world, passed down for generations in cultures on every inhabited continent. It works on the subtlest aspect of humanity – our luminous energy body.
Modern western medicine is unsurpassed in treating physical illness. But you are more than just your physical self – you are an emotional, intellectual, and spiritual being. In fact, everyone has a luminous energy body that surrounds you, and helps organize your experiences. These non-physical luminous spaces are where shamanic energy medicine is practiced.
If you break your ankle, it will generally get better on its own. But what about emotional or spiritual traumas? Are you limping energetically from a prior traumatic event? Are you stuck in old patterns? What’s holding you back from living a full, vibrant life?
From a shamanic perspective, traumas and unresolved emotions can get stored in our luminous energy body and eventually lead to depression, anxiety, or other conditions. Releasing these imprints can bring healing to the energy body, which then flows to our spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and even physical selves.
My sessions focus on self-exploration because I believe that is the key to healing. Transformation lives within you.

Energy Medicine Session
Illumination
The cornerstone of energetic treatment, the illumination starts with a scan of the energy body, including the chakras, to see where energy may be heavy or not flowing properly. Heavy energy will be cleared from the compromised areas to better connect you to your luminous energy body.
Soul Retrieval
When we experience trauma, a portion of our soul may split off to remain safe. During the journeying process, we search out your soul piece, discover why it left, and the conditions upon which it will return home to you.
Extraction
Sometimes our own energy can get stuck inside our body and congeal – blocking the free flow. Other times, negative energy from the outside can occupy our energetic field. Extraction works to remove these blockages or negativity.
Cord Cutting
This process involves the conscious choice to cut bonds with other people, habits, or situations that are no longer in our highest interest. We acknowledge the lessons that we have learned from our experiences, and release the bonds with gratitude
Destiny Retrieval
Similar to soul retrieval, destiny retrieval involves searching for a lost element. Perhaps a higher destiny has been discarded because of limiting beliefs. Through the journeying process, your higher destiny is tracked and recalled for you.
Integration
This occurs after the treatment when you incorporate what you have learned. It is the most important part of the healing process and requires your active participation. At the end of every session, you’ll receive “homework.” Old habits and thought patterns must be consciously discarded, to allow new thought patterns to take root.
Shamanic Ceremony
A ceremony is a sacred time of focused intention. Two types of ceremonies are available, and both involve creating despachos – which are offerings or gifts. By creating an offering, you are providing a physical manifestation of your intention, similar to a Buddhist mandala.
Ayni Despacho - The creation of a beautiful offering generally used to express gratitude, to call in blessings, or restore harmony to a person or group.
Kutti Despacho - Created to remove heavy energy or blocks.
shamanic Frequently Asked Questions
Are you a shaman?
I consider myself an energy medicine practitioner with shamanic skills. Shamans are people who devote their whole lives to ritual and ceremony. I was not born into an indigenous shamanic lineage but have been initiated into one as an adult. I have been fortunate to study with shamans, learn their wisdom, and integrate their methods into my healing style.
How do you honor the indigenous communities from which you have learned this medicine?
I have supported indigenous communities since before I started to study shamanism. I have been a monthly contributor to the American Indian College Fund since 2010, in addition to other avenues of support.
